Dental Implant Consultations for Patients
23/05/14 11:33 Filed in: Patients
Consultation is the basis of a thorough clinical examination and diagnosis. This then enables the clinician to plan the dental implant treatment and provides the patient with the prognosis for the planned treatment and predicts the aesthetic and functional outcome for the tooth replacement using dental implants.
At PID–Academy (Practical Implant Dentistry), the faculty does this jointly with the participants so that they can glean information from the clinical examination and put it into practice. Patient consultations started at Module 3 in May 2014.
Above: Consultation in a relaxed environment. A thorough consultation with good communication for proper informed consent.
Modern equipment and investigations such as Cone Beam CT scans using the Simplant software are used for planning.
Above: Treatment planning using 3d imaging software Simplant. Anatomical structures such as nerve structures (outlined in orange) can be visualized. Implant placement (implants outlined in red) can be simulated and planned.
This results in very safe and effective treatments for patients and upholds the Hippocratic oath of putting the patient’s interest first. Patients are seen at subsidized low costs for high quality dental implant treatment at the clinical training facility in Leeds (Wakefield, Yorkshire, UK). Patients can register online for implant consultations at www.pid-academy.org.
Implant surgery is only carried out after a comprehensive consultation and assessment.
